The art piece was created in collaboration with the National Volunteer & Philanthropy Centre (NVPC), who is the steward of the City of Good vision, with support from the Ministry of Culture, Community and Youth (MCCY).
The PVPA is the pinnacle award and platform to recognise individuals, organisations and leaders that have achieved excellence in giving. These awards represent the highest honour for giving to the community and are conferred by the President of the Republic of Singapore.
The COVID-19 outbreak has brought out the best in our society, showcasing the grassroots’ generous ingenuity and acts of practical kindness and humanity. The pandemic has shown the importance of having People, Organisations and Leaders, come together to give their best for others in times of need.
Organisation of Good (top, centre)

Organisations that empower people will have happier customers, a more motivated workforce, and ultimately become sustainable organisations with lasting legacies. Medical and healthcare organisations have assisted the government in swabbing efforts for frontline workers and the migrant community in factory-converted dormitories. They had to overcome physical discomfort and the fear of getting infected as they took swabs from migrant workers and handled samples in factories while covered in three layers of PPE.
Leader of Good (bottom, right)

Leaders who build trust between diverse groups and empower other leaders to do good will pave the way for a better future together. Many leaders have come forward to rally like-minded and people around them together to serve the community as soon as the pandemic struck. They garnered sponsors, partners and givers to channel donations and distribution of care packs including daily essentials, food and game sets to the elderly in welfare homes and to cheer frontline personnel in hospitals to lift their spirits during the pandemic.
People of Good (bottom, left)

People who care for one another and take action to make society better for all will encourage others to act and spark change. During the pandemic, individuals have helped to provide and deliver nutritious hot meals for whoever was hungry, regardless of their background. Employment opportunities were also created in the midst of the pandemic, providing the beneficiaries with a path towards self-recovery and opportunity to upgrade their skills.
